The diagnosis and management of chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis represents a challenge for clinicians and their patients. Laparoscopy does not fully reveal the extent of disease. Neither surgical nor medical treatments provide a cure for endometriosis. Efficacious treatment requires multifaceted short- and long-term interventions to manage symptoms and help patients enjoy a good quality of life.
