We treated an ectopic pregnancy with an injection of potassium chloride transvaginally. How is this coded?

A

First, was ultrasound guidance of the needle used—and documented? If so, you can report 76942 (ultrasonic guidance for needle placement [eg, biopsy, aspiration, injection, localization device], imaging, supervision, and interpretation).
