surgery, lots of updates on urinary prolapse and incontinence, and more importantly,
issues as it relates to uterine fibroids -alternatives to hysterectomy, and issues
as it relates to oncology.

It’s a brotherhood of international people who are interested in the same thing—taking
care of women’s health and doing so in a minimally invasive manner.

The video sessions this year have been, every one of them, have been packed. People
can check out new techniques, new instrumentation, and they are very popular. Video
education, I think, is an essential part of the AAGL experience.

It’s a very exciting time, in that the field of obstetrics and gynecology is changing,
and it’s changing for a variety of reasons, most of them for the better. And what
is happening is that there are many procedures that have previously been done in
the operating room that can now be done safely and comfortably in an office-based
setting.

AAGL, if I had to describe it, would be a society of innovators. These are people
who want to do things better. It’s not technology for technology’s sake, but it’s
people who challenge the status quo. They don’t accept it and they’re willing to
